The idea behind this rendering was to make a stylized, painterly looking 3D portrait with minimal geometry, emphasizing on texture painting, and use of physically accurate materials, such as sub-surface scattering for the skin and translucent for the eyes' cornea, for a pseudo-realistic "end look". And the subject I picked was the most handy one.
